Face it.......

I did it again, I looked at myself in the mirror whilst brushing my teeth, I mean it’s not like I don’t know where my teeth are! (I hear you all scream ‘they’re in the mug by the side of my bed’).

Anyway. I really do look old. I have aged years in a matter of weeks. The gentle lines that flowed from the corners of my eyes seem like canyons now that have been cut deep into me now … and oh how they spread. More tiny streams of wrinkles that will soon burst their banks.

Relax, wrinkles make a face looked lived in, just don't look in the big mirror when you do naked housework...there is just no getting over that...ever !

mirrors are evil ;]

but seriously, i don't think wrinkles are a bad thing, they make a person seem real to me

Get a life!!

So in a couple of hours I’m off to see the consultant, this is the big one for me!

I figured I would go into work and leave from there but then I changed my mind. I decided to take the morning off so I could have a bit of a lay in and be more relaxed. I never got to lay in at all, in fact I was up earlier than my usual time for work, I guess I am more anxious about this than I even realised. This has the result of me having the cleanest kitchen ‘EVER’!

My daughter knew about today’s appointment but I passed it off as just a check up and thought she would forget about it! Nevertheless I received the sweetest text message saying she didn’t have time to chat as she’s rushing to school but finished with those three little words .. ‘’get a life’’ you all say …no, they were ‘’I love you’’.

NOW I’M READY

I just want to publicly thank Cancer for giving me his mark. I really don't know what I've done to deserve it but it's still nice to be appreciated. Thank You.

On the home front I am back at the hospital this week, tomorrow in fact (yep the 13th). I have not been right for a while now and just hope they come up with something positive before I lose all hope in the medical professions.

On with the week, I'm ready!

Sock it to em!!

20:19 Oct 08 2009

I believe I have succumb to the great phenomenon that is the missing sock in the washing machine syndrome.

For twenty years or so I have done my own washing, not for any particular reason but because I just have. Even when I was married I would do the washing for my partner, it just became ‘habit’.

The only time I was challenged with all this was when my Polish sister-in-law stayed. She would cook, clean house and do my laundry. I tried endlessly to explain that I didn’t want my smalls touched but because of her lack of English she would just smile, agree and still did them! I reluctantly allowed her to do them in the end (not that I had much choice).

But I digress.

I have prided myself on never losing any item of underwear in my washing machine, until now.

Here’s the thing, when I load my machine I put in my socks in pairs.

I once had an elderly aunt who could shrink or change the colour of some clothing, but make them disappear? That’s an art.

Socks tend to migrate to the most bizarre places. Check what else you washed with them...sometimes they get into trousers, pillowcases, any place that has an opening!

P.S. I adore the expression "smalls"...it completely sums up the situation! I wash my own also. No one needs to see my big ass granny panties! :D
